Alizée Jacotey (French pronunciation: born 21 August 1984) is a French singer, known professionally by her given name Alizée – the feminine form of alizé, the trade wind. She was discovered by Mylène Farmer, following her winning performance in the talent show, Graines de Star, in 1999. While collaborating with Mylène Farmer and Laurent Boutonnat, Alizée released two albums – both of which were hits inside and outside of France.

Alizée is a French singer. She was discovered in a talent show and debuted in 2000 at 16yr old by French pop diva Mylène Farmer and Laurent Boutonnat. Her succes with single Moi...Lolita. It was a success both in France and abroad earning Alizée the distinction of being the highest selling female singing in French of this decade. Her single debut was included in Album Gourmandises -A platinum certificate album within three months release- followed up with another studio album in 2003, Mes Courants Électriques, and later a live album — Alizée En Concert — in 2004. Even though the albums have portrayed her in a sexy, lolita-like image, Alizée had a "squeaky-clean public image as the perfect teenager" during her teens. Though described as a very shy and a reserved person, she likes performing in front of audiences. Although her singing career, Alizée is quite proficient dancer in classical dance, jazz, ballet, tap and flamenco. She has taken part in various stage shows and live performances throughout France, Europe, Asia and Russia, and has also starred in a Japanese television commercial. Alizée toured France during the fall of 2003, performing 43 concerts throughout France, along with Belgium and Switzerland. Though not nearly as popular in North America as she is in much countries of Europe, Asia and LatinAmerica; Alizée`s dance from "J`en Ai Marre" was the influence for the Night Elf female dance in video game WOW (World of Warcraft). Alizée married fellow French singer Jeremy Chatelain in late 2003. Since her marriage she took a break from singing, had a baby but returned at 23 yr old with a new album, titled Psychedelices on December 3, 2007 under the RCA Records label. Alizée is actively involved in charity work through Les Enfoirés, a group of French celebrities who organize fund-raising concerts every year. Alizée participated in these concerts in 2001, 2002, 2008 and 2009. Alizee started her first World Tour in 2008 visitng Russia, Mexico and will continue her tour in 2009 promoting her songs: Mademoiselle Juliette, Fifty Sixty and La Isla Bonita (Madonna`s cover) On October 2008 Alizee won a "Moon Award" for best International Pop Performer in Mexico. On April 25, 2009 Alizee had an interview with Mexican newspaper announcing she will visit Mexico, Chile and Argentina. Also Adanowsky - male singer- (son filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky)has just composed a song in Spanish for Alizee that will be released shortly.
