She moved to Madrid with her family when she was a young girl. A typical childhood replete with a love-filled home preceded her assent to the top of the modeling world. Just as she was completing high school, however, the normalcy of that childhood would end. Along with model boyfried, Antonio Macian, She spended time in both New York and Paris, arguably the two epicentres of the fashion world. She was the runner-up in a huge modeling competition held by Spanish Elle, when she turned 18 after finishing her schooling. With the exposure that came with such a high-profile event, it was only a matter of time before the big players realized Almu dena Fernandez had enourmous potential. Not long after the Spanish Elle competition, Almudena Fernandez entered in the European version and again came in second. It was at this point that She decided she wanted to pursue a career in modeling. Initially, She had the fortune to work with the likes of Lacoste, Bisou-Bisou, Wolford, Hanro, Hermes and the list goes on. Later, She even appeared on the covers of Elle and Cosmo, a well-worn and often quick path to mainstream popularity. In 1998, Almudena Fernandez was the face of Carolina Herrera`s Aquaflore fragrance and following this came another campaign to be the front-woman of Givenchy`s new smell, Organza Indecence, since late 1999. She was able after that to do a ready-to-wear autumn/winter show in 2001 for Antonio Miro, Armando Basi and other designers. As Almudena Fernandez continued to fill up her resume with work for Revlon, L`Oral, Kenneth Cole, Parasuco, and Victoria`s Secret, European and American fashion pundits began to give her that illustrious "supermodel" tag. Cover appearances in Elle and Cosmopolitan helped the rare name of "Almudena Fernandez " become very familiar. To boost her career even further, She began commuting from New York to Paris. The long hours in both cities meant many magazine appearances and work with famous names like Cartier and Gianfranco Ferre. This, along with her insistence on connecting with the media and her fans, translated into much positive publicity in the years post-2000.
