Profile Bio Text
Bobbie Diane Eakes was born on July 25th, 1961 in Macon, Georgia. The 5`5 tall Emmy nominated actress grew up primarily in Warner Robins, Georgia as the youngest of five daughters in an Air Force Family. Her love for performing can be tracked back all the way to her childhood. The Eakes girls were very much into music and often put on their own shows. The first time Bobbie sang solo for a real audience was in a junior high talent show where she sang the song "Country Girl". The performance was a success and Bobbie delighted the crowd with an encore as she sang "Silver Threads and Golden Needles". Bobbie followed in her sister Sandra`s footstep when she won the title of Miss Georgia and competed as a top ten finalist in the Miss America Pageant. Following her year as Miss Georgia, Bobbie moved to Los Angeles to pursue her singing and acting career.
While in L.A., Bobbie found herself getting work on a lot of TV shows but her singing career was going places as well. She was part of the all girl band Big Trouble, a group which was produced by Grammy winner Giorgio Moroder. Bog Trouble`s first and only record of the same name contained their two singles "Crazy World" and "When the Love is Good". The band was also the "house band" on the series "Comedy Break", where Bobbie turned up occasionally as a performer in the sketches.
When Big Trouble broke up during the eighties, Bobbie found herself at a crossroads in her career and it was then she auditioned for the part of `Macy Alexander` on the CBS daytime drama "The Bold and The Beautiful". Bobbie played the part that brough her fame for a lengthy time but her creative efforts were hardly limited by it. In fact taking on the role of Macy gave Bobbie more opportunity to pursue her other passion, music, which has led to an equally successful singing career. Her suggestion to be allowed to sing on the show led to Bobbie`s duets with co-star on the show and friend Jeff Trachta and the recording of two "Bold and Beautiful Duets" albums which have been certified as double-platinum in Europe. This success led to a solo deal and Bobbie`s one request was that she could choose the producer and retain more creative control. The album called "Here and Now", produced by Grammy winning Don Cook, is a mixture of Country & Western and Blue Grass, was released in Europe in 1998.
Bobbie left The Bold and The Beautiful in 2000 and paired up with top country artist Collin Raye in a duet entitled "Loving This Way" from Collin`s "Tracks" CD. During her two year break from The Bold and The Beautiful, Bobbie also filmed two movies, "Choosing Mathias" and "Charlie`s War" and began working for the Great American Country Network as a host for two of their television shows, CRL and Top 20 Country Countdown.
Bobbie returned to portray Macy on B&B for almost a year when the oppotunity arose to move to the New York based "All My Children". Bobbie now plays Krystal Carey for the ABC daytime drama. Her portrayal won her an Emmy nomination in the Lead Actress category.
In 2005 she released her secon solo album entitled "Something Beautiful", which debuted at no. 21 on the Billboard Smooth Jazz chart.
Bobbie has been married to actor/writer David Steen, whom she met during an acting class, since July 4th, 1992. In her spare time, she enjoys donating her time to various charities and loves to paint. Bobbie is also an Emmy Award-nominated actress.
