Couple Profile
Byron Cherry (born April 15, 1955 in Atlanta, Georgia) is a former actor. He portrayed Coy Duke, one of the new Duke Boys, in the 1982-1983 season of The Dukes of Hazzard, replacing John Schneider`s Bo Duke character. He won the position in a contest.
The Dukes of Hazzard:
Cherry`s portrayal of the "blond Duke" had him more apt to having crushes and falling in love with the various female characters he encountered on the show. The conflicts between his love interest and his family drove most of the plots during the short time on the air. He, along with fellow replacement Christopher Mayer (who played his dark-haired counterpart "Vance Duke"), was dismissed when the original Dukes, Schneider and Tom Wopat, returned.
Later career:
He made few notable contributions to the entertainment industry after the show, appearing in a handful of one-time guest appearances in minor roles until 1990, when he retired from acting. He now owns his own business, "Byron`s Barkeep", in Ventura, California.
