Catrinel Menghia, sometimes known as Catrinel Marlon, (born October 1, 1985, Iași) is a Romanian top fashion model who is best known for her 2006 and 2009 appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, and as the face of Giorgio Armani worldwide and French lingerie purveyor Lise Charmel. At the age of 16, Menghia finished third in Ford's "Supermodel of Romania" competition, and received the award Romania's Model of the Year in 2002 before signing with Major Model Management in Milano. She has also appeared in Maxim, FHM and Fitness and done advertisements for such notable clients as Fiat.

Born and raised in Iasi (Moldavian region of Romania), Catrinel Menghia wanted to become a famous athlete before starting modeling. She was born on October 1st, 1985. Catrinel was discovered at the age of 16 years old on the street by a local agent (Lucian) who brought her later to Bucharest to meet with the MRA Agency and Liviu Ionescu. After six months, her parents agreed that Catrinel could move to Bucharest to pursue an international modeling career. She participated in the Ford Supermodel of the World Romania contest in November 2001. The same modeling contest entered by Elena Baguci. Catrinel ended up with the second runner-up prize. She is living in Milan and working mostly for lingerie clients all over the world between New York, London, Munchen, Hamburg, Athens, Barcelona or Milan. She has also been the face of the french brand of lingerie - Lise Charmel - since 2005.
