She`s a Grammy-winning singer, an Academy Award-winning actress, songwriter, record producer, fashion icon, muse, and with a career spanning over 4 decades and Top 10 hits on the Billboard every decade from the 1960s to 2000s. In 1962 Cher moved to Hollywood in pursuit of an acting/singing career. Within a year she was working as a session singer, doing backup for some of Phil Spectors most popular songs. It was there a 16 year old Cher met a 27 year old Sonny Bono and through their collaboration they began climbing the Billboard charts while becoming quite the eccentric looking hippie couple. they were together musically and romantically from 1962-1975 and had one child together, Chastity Bono in 1969. Five days after finalizing her very public divorce from Bono Cher then married Gregg Allman (The Allman Brothers). They had one son, Elijah Blue Allman in 1976, separated in 1977 and divorced 2 years later. Cher has been linked to many famous men including Warren Beatty, Gene Simmons, David Geffen, Val Kilmer, Tom Cruise, Richie Sambora and Eric Stoltz, just to name a few. She has also claimed to have almost had a fling with Elvis Presley though was too nervous to actually go up to his room when he invited her and says she deeply regrets turning him down.

Cher (born Cherilyn Sarkisian on May 20, 1946) is an American recording artist, Emmy-award winning television personality, award-winning actress, director, record producer and philanthropist. Referred to as the Goddess of Pop, she has won an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, an Emmy Award, three Golden Globes and a Cannes Film Festival Award among others for her work in film, music and television. She is the only person in history to have received all of these awards. Cher began her career as a backup singer and later came to prominence as one half of the pop rock duo Sonny & Cher with the success of their song "I Got You Babe" in 1965. She subsequently established herself as a solo recording artist, and became a television star in 1971 with The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour, a variety show for which she won a Golden Globe. A well received performance in the film Silkwood earned her a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1984. In the following years, Cher starred in a string of hit films including Mask, The Witches of Eastwick, and Moonstruck, for which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 1988.
