Danny Smith was born in Montreal on October 2, 1977 but was raised in Toronto. After high school productions of Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Joseph), Little Shop of Horrors (Seymour), The Wizard of Oz (The Cowardly Lion) and more, he began performing at Stage West spending over a year doing dinner theater. He went on to study and perform improvised comedy at The Second City (Toronto), one of his teachers being SCTV`s legend Joe Flaherty. This led to various television ("It`s Alive!", "Big Wolf on Campus") and film roles ("National Lampoon`s Senior Trip", "All I Wanna Do" with Kirsten Dunst and Rachel Leigh-Cook, "The Big Hit" with Mark Wahlberg and Christina Applegate). He also wrote and performed the theme song to "Big Wolf on Campus" as well as scoring some of the scenes in various episodes.
He was one of eight men flown to New York to audition for Saturday Night Live. He auditioned on the SNL monologue stage for Lorne Michaels. Danny lives in Los Angeles and, in addition to acting, he is the singer/songwriter/guitarist for the band The City Drive. The band recently played with Aerosmith, Fleetowwd Mac and Goo Goo Dolls in Hawaii at an event hosted by Jay Leno. In 2006, Danny started 1888 Clothing, a company which donates 50% of their proceeds to the NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council.)
