Karl Fredrik "Freddie" Ljungberg (born 16 April 1977 in Vittsjö, Sweden) is a retired Swedish footballer. His last club was Shimizu S-Pulse after his contract was terminated by mutual consent. Ljungberg was captain of the Swedish national team until he announced his international retirement after UEFA Euro 2008. On 24 August 2012 Ljungberg announced his retirement from club football after a stint in the J-League after which he was contract-less for 6 months.

Karl Fredrik Ljungberg was born in Vittsjo, Sweden on April 16, 1977. He moved to Halmstad, Sweden when he was 5 where he enjoyed playing handball, hockey, and soccer growing up. Ljungberg played for Halmstad youth team and Halmstad team from 1982 until 1998. After being seen on tape, Arsene Wegner of Arsenal decided to sign the Swede and the rest is history. Ljungberg was a part of Arsenal`s "Invincible s" along with Thierry Henry. In 2007, after 9 years with Arsenal he signed with West Ham United. Ljungberg is currently the Captian of the Swedish National Team. Ljungberg is known for his unique style on the field as well as off of it. Ljungberg has had many ad a campaigns including Calvin Klein, Lo real, Pringles, Nike, and Puma. Due to his unique sense of style and good looks, he is a gay icon in Great Britain. Despite being a huge gay icon, Ljungberg is straight. He is often linked to many famous women as he never seems to have a steady WAG, wife and girlfriends of footballers. Ljungberg`s life as well as sex life seems to be a national obsession with British Football fans.
