Jason Craig Thompson is a Canadian actor born November 20, 1976 in St. Albert, Alberta. He joined the cast of the American daytime drama General Hospital in December 2005 as arrogant yet brilliant neurosurgeon Dr. Patrick Drake. In 2007, Thompson became an original cast member of the General Hospital prime-time spin-off General Hospital: Night Shift while maintaining his day job on GH. Thompson currently lives in Los Angeles and loves to play hockey and surf. His favorite food is sushi. In addition, he co-owns two bars/night clubs in Edmonton. One of them is named "Halo" and the other is called "Red Star". He used to have a dog named Scarlet who, according to Jason, "would sit on a person`s lap for hours and not move". However, while living temporarily with co-star Greg Vaughan, she got loose and ran away. Jason has since become the owner of Vedder, a Great Dane named after the lead singer of his favorite band, Pearl Jam, Eddie Vedder. Jason`s love of children has motivated him to volunteer at the Children`s Hospital in Los Angeles.
