Jayne Shadduck Durant, a former Hollywood actress and owner of the old Palms Hotel in Waikiki, died May 29.
She was 77.
Durant appeared in "42nd Street" and several Busby Berkeley musicals in the late 1930s. During her ownership of the Palms, vacationers included Rita Hayworth and Robert Wagner. |
Jayne Shadduck was one of the first female pilots in the United States,she flew a six passenger plane from Detroit to New York,for which she was featured in Life magazine.
