Kirstie Louise Alley (born January 12, 1951) is an American actress known for her role in the TV show Cheers, in which she played Rebecca Howe from 1987–1993, winning an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award as the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 1991. She is also known for her role in the Look Who's Talking film series as Mollie Ubriacco.

In high school Alley was a cheerleader. She was a cocaine addict for two years after dropping out of college, and says it took her a month to drive from Kansas to California, because she had to find sources and buy drugs all along the way. She played a Vulcan in her first film, Star Trek II. Kirstie Alley`s first series was Masquerade in 1983, with Greg Evigan and Rod Taylor, wherein Alley kept a watchful eye on novice spies.
She later got a part on the movie North & South as Virgilia. Which, the movie made her known in the industry.
In 1987, she replaced Shelley Long on Cheers until the bar was closed in 1993. During then, She was married to Parker Stevenson, She had a miscarriage in 1990. In 1991, She adopted William True Parker. [Parker was Parker's birth last name]
In 1993, She adopted Lillie Price Parker.
From 1997-2000 she was in the lingerie business on Veronica`s Closet with Kathy Najimy. After that show was cancelled, Alley gained much weight. Unlike others, though, Alley laughed along, even starring as herself in the aptly named reality/sitcom Fat Actress.
In 2006, after a year on the Jenny Craig diet, she showed off her no-longer-fat body in a bikini on Oprah. Alley is the only surviving cast member from Cheers who never visited Kelsey Grammer on his spin-off Frasier.
After losing weight from Fat Actress, She gained weight back and made the reality show, " Kirsties big life". It didn't last long.
She kept the weight on instead of losing it for a year. Finally, she lost approx. 30pounds.
Later, she starred on Dancing With The Stars. She met a future best friend, Maksim Chmerkovskiy also known as her dance partner.
She ended up 2nd place in Dancing With The Stars next to Hines Ward.
She lost 60 - 70 pounds during the show. And, now she is planning to lose even more. Being almost a 24' Waist for when she travels to Italy.
