Li Bing Bing had no intention of becoming an actress intially and she specifically in a high school for prospective school teachers however, upon graduation, she became dissatisfied with her career and was eventually persuaded by a friend to join the shanghai drama institute. Her film debut was zhang yuan`s seventeen years 1999. in 2005, li started in the romantic comedy film waiting alone,which recieved three chinies acadamy award nomination,including,best picture and best actress. Li won the best actress award at the hubioa awards 26 aug 2007 for her performence in the film the knot. She also co- started with martial art film superstars jet li and jackie chan the 2008 film the forbidden kingdom as the white-haired witch ni-chang. In nov 2009 li won the best leading actress award at 46th golden house film awards for her role in the message.
