Monica Pauline "Nikki" Gil (born August 23, 1987, Manila, Philippines) is a Filipino singer, actress, host, model and myx VJ.

About Nikki A HUMBLE BEGINNING Interesting music always happens when an artist let down their guard and reveals more of themselves in their songs. Nikki Gil has what it takes to do that. She is Monica Pauline S. Gil to her family and friends, and simply Nikki Gil as she enters the limelight. ABS-CBN was caught by Nikki’s lovable and wholesome image. Aside from a lovely face and a good voice, Nikki also is a prowess in hosting. She was given a good break-in and signed a contract as a mainstay VJ on MYX, co-hosted in a daily talk show called MRS on ABS-CBN and Breakfast on ANC. Nikki also joins the superstars on the concert TV called ASAP’07 every Sunday on ABS-CBN. She also hosted ABS-CBN’s daily reality show called Pinoy Dream Academy. Nikki as a part of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic had played a lead roles as Leal in the television series “Rounin”. As for her singing career, she also sang a duet with Josh Santana on a theme song for ABC-CBN’s teenage reality dating game Qpids where a remake of “Dito sa Puso Ko” of Ogie Alcacid of the 90s came alive again from an endearing voice of an uprising superstar like herself. SELF-TITLED NIKKI Even among multitalented artists, Nikki stands out for her beauty with a cosmopolitan flair adding up with a voice relative to her personal influences as they serve a great effect on her performances and how she defines music. EMI Music Philippines signed Nikki into a contract for her debut album in April 2005. EMI describe her music in totality with the person she is as gorgeous, graceful and youthful as her first stirring CD together with her first single promises to hold its lock on local charts, together with her stunningly inspiring up-coming videos. Self-titled “Nikki Gil” as it is called, is mixed bag of pure-pop lyricism and throwaway covers. “Sakayan ng Jeep” dubbed to be her debut single-- a fool-on swoony ballad in R@B taste connects the song itself and listeners to their real-life jeepney stories. This song was composed by Bodjie Dasig and was first recorded by Lani Misalucha in the 90’s. EMI had “Sakayan...” as their first choice in choosing the best song suited for Nikki’s personality and image to the public. As she find her niche on hey way to stardom. After the album’s release in September 2005, a repackaged was released in Feb 2006 featuring GLOWING INSIDE, the song used in Vaseline shampoo commercial as a tribute to all graduates and their moms behind them. Nikki remains as a young achiever in her craft. July 2006, EMI Philippines and Walt Disney Records introduced her to be one of the Asian artists to sing and to star in the music video of Disney Channel’s original movie High School Musical’s theme song Breaking Free. Nikki joined Vince Chong of Malaysia and Alicia Pan of Singapore for the free-spirited song Breaking Free’s for the Asian version. High School Musical OST Asian Version which have sold more than 20,000 units in the Philippines.“The song talks about following your dreams and believing in yourself. We found these in Nikki so we called her right after we chose her. There were no auditions required,” explained Mai Tatoy, senior manager at Walt Disney Television International (Southeast Asia). Soon after, Nikki also graced High School Musical 2 OST with the song GOTTA GO MY OWN WAY which also climbed the charts and boosted HSM’s status to double platinum record. HEAR HER HEART “I like Alicia Keys. I admire her skills in playing piano and singing at the same time. I’ve always wanted to come out with an album that is piano driven. Thanks to EMI, that dream has come true as you will hear in many of the songs in my “Hear My Heart” album. I also know that Alicia Keys writes her own songs, and that has inspired me to try my hand at some originals,” Nikki humbly shares. Nikki Gil remains a household name up to now. With her indelible hit after the other, big shot TV shows and top-rating soap-operas-- 2008 gives another step for Nikki to prove her claim as one of the top-rated young artists of Philippine entertainment. With her latest and second album entitled HEAR MY HEART with the kick-off single “Hear My Heart,” (co-written by her younger sister, Danela Gil) Nikki and EMI Philippines is braced for the release of her latest CD which Nikki herself describes as “The title reflects the reality and dilemma of today’s teeners—those bombarded daily with a thousand online or text messages, but are somehow unsure if their so-called friends really hear their heart’s longing. This album is my invitation for everyone to listen to what my heart wants to say.” Nikki Gil recently finished a project with Disney in Hong Kong where she recorded and shot a music video for the pop version of “It’s A Small World After All.”
