Perry Firestone King (born April 30, 1948) is an American television and film actor. King played the role of Cody Allen on the detective series Riptide from 1983 to 1986.

Trivia His wife, Jamie Elvidge, was featured in the 1996 documentary Biker Women (1996) (TV). She works as a motorcycle journalist. Both she and Perry are avid motorcyclists. By way of his grandfather, literary editor Maxwell Perkins, he descends from Senator Wm. Evarts, Roger Sherman, signer of the Declaration of Independence, and through Roger Sherman`s grandfather, Roger Wellington, he descends from Edward I, King of England. Graduated from Yale University with a degree in theatre, and then attended Julliard School, where he studied acting with John Houseman. Perry King is from Alliance, Ohio, which is home to Mount Union College. There is an on-campus house named after him, King House, in which some students reside. Daughter, Hannah, with Jamie Elvidge. Auditioned for the role of Han Solo for the original Star Wars film. Although he did not get the part, he later won the role for the NPR adaptation of the Star Wars Trilogy. Played fictional President Blake in The Day After Tommorrow, coincidentally he attended Yale at the same time as actual President Bush. Played Richard Burgi`s character Jim Ellison`s father William Ellison in an episode of The Sentinel, though he is only ten years older. Is also a race car driver who won the 1986 Long Beach Grand Prix Toyota Pro-Celebrity Race.
