Raymond Oliver Cruz Ilustre, better known by his screen name Rayver Cruz (born July 20, 1989), is a Filipino actor, dancer and singer.

Rayver Cruz Isn’t Your Typical Boy-Next-Door At first glance, Raymond Oliver Cruz may be just one of the young men gifted with good looks and nothing more. Well, as he aged in show business, he is proving his critics wrong. Rayver Cruz was born on July 20, 1989, in Manila Philippines. He’s one of the sons of Elizabeth Cruz-Ilustre and Rodolfo Ilustre Sr. He has two brothers, namely, Rodolfo Junior, also known as Rodjun, and Omar. The former is also a famous dancer, having recently won the first round in You Can Dance, a weekend dance extravaganza. The 5`10 ½" young lad isn’t a stranger in the entertainment industry. For one, he belongs to the illustrious clan of Cruzes. His cousins include Sheryl, Donna, and Geneva, all famous actresses and singers. He first started out in GMA 7 as a child star. When he’s 9 years old, he acted alongside Ara Mina and Joey de Leon in a comedy sitcom entitled Kiss Muna. Later on he decided to move to ABS-CBN where he started out as one of the members of Anim-e, a dancing group composed of young boys. They would usually perform in different variety shows, including ASAP Mania and MTB. His big break in TV same when he was asked to play the role of Red, one of the leading characters in Spirits, directed by critically acclaimed Chito Roño. He also worked together with Claudine Barretto , Diether Ocampo , Bea Alonzo , and John Lloyd Cruz in the popular soap opera Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin. Though his character was killed in the end, his dramatic performance as Nat earned him considerable positive reviews. He also get to play biographical roles such as the life of Billy Joe Crawford in Maalala Mo Kaya, which didn’t only showcase his acting and dancing skills but also his singing abilities. Rayver is also the other half of the Shaina-Rayver tandem. Shaina Magdayao is the younger sister of Vina Morales , a popular pop and R&B singer. It was in Star Magic Presents, where they played a young couple, that their love team was born. Soon they were offered to become regular members in About Ur Love, a youth-oriented show that tackles about the various growing pains brought by young love. Both of them also belonged to Ultimate Dance 4 (UD4), the newest dance group groomed by ABS-CBN. In fact, their dance moves to Kembot became a national sensation. The latest TV project of Rayver was Rounin, where he worked with other home-grown ABS-CBN talent. He played the role of Mythos, one of the central personas in the television epic. He was a young warrior who was searching for his own identity while trying to fight the evilness of Vega, queen of the underworld, and her henchmen. To prepare for this show, Rayver, together with the other casts, practiced for days in the fields of martial arts and wushu just so they could deliver close-to-perfect portrayals of their characters. On the lighter note, Rayver’s ultimate dream girl is Kristine Hermosa , and he loves to play basketball together with his friends, including those from Anim-E. He loves the color green and looks up to Cesar Montano .
