Ronnie aka Ron Wood was born June 1st 1947 in Hillingdon, Middlesex England. Ronnie was raised in a musical family, and his older brothers, Art & Ted were active in the skiffle & trad jazz scenes. He has become one of the most famous guitarists in the world, having played in the Rolling Stones for approx 30 years and previously was a songwriter and backing musician with Rod Stewart when both were in 1970’s party rock group The Faces. Wood met Stewart when they were employed in the Jeff Beck Group in the late 1960’s, and prior to that Wood had been in a London modscene group called The Birds that dissolved in 1966. Wood, an accomplished celebrity portrait painter, has also done solo albums, and collaborated on numerous all-star musical projects.
