Sebastian Stan (born August 13, 1983) is an Romanian-American actor. He is best known for playing Prince Jack Benjamin on the television drama Kings and Carter Baizen on Gossip Girl.

Sebastian was born in the Romanian city of Constan�a on 13 August 1983. He and his mother moved to Vienna, Austria at the age of 8 years old. After a few years Sebastian's mother took him to Rockland County, New York after she married the headmaster of an American private school. Rockland Country Day School was when Sebastian got a taste in acting as he starred in productions like Harvey, Cyrano de Bergerac, Little Shop of Horrors, Over Here, and West Side Story. Sebastian went to Stagedoor Manor summer camp and took some acting lessons. That was when he decided to take acting seriously applied to various universities with acting as a major. He attended Rutgers University's Mason Gross School of the Arts and had the opportunity to spend a year abroad studying acting at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London, England. After graduating from Rutgers in 2005, Sebastian was cast in The Architect and was given a chance to work with such iconic actors like Anthony LaPaglia and Isabella Rossellini. He then played the antagonist in The Covenant. His character, Chase Collins, is a warlock and the archenemy of the lead. In 2007, Sebastian Stan appeared in The CW's hit show Gossip Girl as the infamous Carter Baizen. He was in 2 episodes each for both the 1st & 2nd seasons of the show. That same year, Sebastian made his Broadway debut in Eric Bogosian's Talk Radio. He acted opposite Liev Schreiber onstage. Other than Broadway, Sebastian set his sights on the big screen. Jonathan Demme created a role for Sebastian in his film Rachel Getting Married, a film starring Anne Hathaway. He also appeared in the movie The Education of Charlie Banks, playing Leo. As of 2009, Sebastian has starred in the short-lived NBC dram Kings. He plays Prince Jack, the tormented heir to the throne and son to Ian McShane's King Silas. The character's sexuality gave Sebastian the opportunity to flex his acting muscles as Jack grappled with feelings and the responsibilities of his title. Sebastian will also appear alongside Ashton Kutcher this summer in a film called Spread. He plays Harry, a close friend of Kutcher's playboy Nikki. Sebastian is reprising his role as Carter on Gossip Girl for the show's third season. He met his current girlfriend Leighton Meester on the set while filming the show.
