Atlantis: The Lost Empire is a 2001 American animated film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures. It was the first science-fiction and 41st entry to the Disney animated features canon. The sci-fi action film was written by Tab Murphy, directed by Gary Trousdale and Kirk Wise, and produced by Don Hahn. The film was noted for using the simple artistic style of comic book artist Mike Mignola as well as continuing attempts by Disney to produce animated features without musical interludes.
